Motorola has invited the media to attend a special May 13 press event that will take place in London,
Engadget reports , and while it?s not clear what new products the company will unveil, it is believed Motorola could introduce to the world its cheapest Android handset yet. Dubbed the Moto E in some reports, the upcoming smartphone should be even more affordable than the Moto G that launched last year and which quickly became one of Motorola?s best-selling devices. The company is already rumored to be working on several new smartphones for 2014, including a Moto X successor , and e ven a handset of phablet proportions, although it?s not clear when these devices will be
launched. A few weeks ago, a report from Brazil revealed that the local telecommunications regulator has already
approved a Moto E phone that?s supposed to start selling soon. According to that
report, the cheaper Motorola device would pack a 4.3-inch 720p display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of storage, 5 megapixel camera, FM Radio, 1900mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat under the hood.
The phone would be just 6.2mm, which could mean the Moto E may be Motorola?s thinnest smartphone yet, and would be available in single-SIM and dual-SIM variations.
